Company guard

"As a company guard (ie the leader of the young persons group) they are to visit each child's home at least once a quarter. He/she should find out their special temptations and difficulties, and the kind of company they are thrown into at school or work.  By this means he will be able to deal with them according to their different temperaments and circumstances, and will know how to encourage and help them."

"Christ has done more for the children by His teaching, spirit, and words -- altogether apart fro His work of salvation -- than all the other teachers of the world in all ages put together.  We are, therefore, treading actually in the footsteps of the Saviour when we attempt, ever so imperfectly, to teach the children for His sake."

In honour of a saint

I was given this book; International Company Orders - 1907 by a saint and in her memory I'm going to study it.
